| Ambitions | Max’s primary ambition is to become a Chief Operations Officer on a deep space exploratory vessel. She doesn’t see rank as a prize, but rather as a measure of the trust placed in her. Her ultimate goal is to help design and implement adaptive systems architecture for the next generation of Starfleet vessels. She also harbors a quieter, more personal dream to one day serve as a mentor at Starfleet Academy, helping the next generation of cadets find their path just as her instructors did for her. |
| Personal History | Maxine Lewis was born to Christopher and Dana Lewis, both civilian computer engineers who worked on adaptive AI logistics systems for Starfleet Support Command. Growing up around advanced technology, Max developed an early fascination with starships not the glamorous side of command or exploration but rather the inner workings of the systems that made them alive. At the age of 15, Max entered an accelerated academic program focused on computer systems and operations management. Her instructors quickly noted her aptitude for complex systems thinking and her natural sense of timing as an intuitive grasp of how separate systems interconnect and influence each other. At the Academy, she majored in Starship Operations Management, with minors in Power Systems Dynamics and Computational Logistics. She was well liked among her peers, though often teased for spending long hours recalibrating Academy training modules simply for the fun of it. Max graduated with full honors in 2387, earning a Superior Performance Citation for her work on distributed resource management simulations, which were later incorporated into Starfleet’s operational training curriculum. Upon graduation, she was assigned to the USS Ardennes, an Intrepid class science vessel operating along the Cardassian border. She served as a junior operations officer, learning first hand how to balance ship resource management in unpredictable environments. During her tenure, she assisted in a successful rerouting of shipboard power during a warp core containment incident, an act that earned her her first commendation for quick thinking under pressure. In 2395, Max was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and reassigned to the USS Eclipse, a Nova class research and exploratory vessel. On the Eclipse, Max quickly integrated herself into ship's crew, where her adaptability and sense of humor made her a welcome addition to the crew. |
